Make little sense, but it looks good to the unknowledgeable urban voters that DFO and their political masters like to fool into thinking DFO is actually managing our public fisheries well.

I was at Bauer traps this morning, He asked me to post this. Here is a fix that is being supplied to Bauer trap suppliers. It will be supplied with new traps. Or available for purchase.
If you look at your traps closely there are clipped ends in numerous place. I’ve had 4 of my traps since 2012, fished the regularly, rinsed with freshwater before storage and have no signs of rust of corrosion on any raw ends. I don’t think it will be an issue, Bauer uses very high quality mesh in their trapsDo we think the clipped wires will rust fast? Maybe no big deal.
Yes, the Bauer trap uses a high quality mesh. Some don't.If you look at your traps closely there are clipped ends in numerous place. That is how they are set up, so they can open by gravity as per the regulationsThis would work but I think they should be set up so the door falls in otherwise it would hang up on everything boat.
$5 is cheap and they overlap with finished edges. The piece you cut out will have pointy edges. Why pay $5 each trap? Just put the piece that you cut off back on with rot cord.
