Our 3rd (and keeper) Allied Boats 30’ Wildcat Build ****

Bottom was painted last week. This week should have been seats and fish boxes. We are headed up tomorrow to install the wrap. Hope I don’t Screw it up! Had been waiting to see if we were gonna get enough “seadek” in orange and grey. They got it a couple days ago, so this is the blueprint.

This is what we are doing for the wrap. Erica came up with the font and Boatskinz added the cat eyes on the house.image002.png

You have a really nice build. Thanks for including us in it.

Question

In this picture it appears that these , for lack of a better word, pods are open.

Is this just an optical thing? Or are they waiting for something before being closed in.

This is a catamaran. Those are the sponsons. The area between them is the tunnel. Nothing left open.

The boat is lifted off the trailer and the trailer is covered in plastic to keep any of the primer, barrier coat, paint from being dripped on it. You might be seeing a reflection from that?

Had a long delay getting the new flooring material. “Someone” (no need to point fingers) saw a buddy’s new SeaDek (SlapShot) and really liked it, so we had to order new flooring. The manufacturer had the exact number of sheets (18) to get the floor done. Not enough for the combing pads :(. Might just go with straight grey???

This is my 3rd, AND LAST, build, so I want every as right as can be. I’m loving how she’s coming together.should get a seatrial pretty soon.

She’s done and at the house. Did a shakedown run on Saturday. Topped her off with 250 gallons, added some gear, and kicked on the bait tank pump for added weight. Electronics said we burned 117 gallons. When we topped her off, we added 115. Pretty dang accurate. WOT was 5,950 rpm (port) and 5,850 rpm (stbd) = a little over 0.7 mpg at 50 mph. We saw 1.8 mpg at 24 mph going with the tide. Under ~35 mph, the Honda 350s are notably more efficient than the Zuke 350s. Over 35 mph and things are comparable. It’s certainly possible that dialing in the jackplates plays a role in the added efficiency (neither #1 nor #2 had jackplates).

I love the Honda gauge. It shows 6 lines of data for both motors. It appears block temp is one of the data sets. These ran 190°F - 228°F. Spoke to 3 other Honda owners and they have similar results. Our guess is that the sensors are distant from the cooling passages, so the temps are worst case scenario. Made me a little concerned early on tho!

I did a LONG walkthrough video for those who have way too much free time…🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️.
