Odd really odd but ..

I have never heard Clay referred to as Lovely Rose, but i will make sure i call him that next time i see him!!

Lorne

haha....I've only met Rose and she always helps me out bigtime...but it sounds like Clay is the man to see for some HP in Bam!

I'm all for naming good or poor performers with a non-inflamatory review of them or sharing an experience dealing with them. Name calling and other juvenile crap should be reined in for sure but if we don't review these places and share our experiences who does and how do we know?

Restaurants and hotels have professional reviewers report on them and there are entire web services devoted to that sub-industry. Reviewers don't pull punches with the business name as the article title and neither do commenters on sites like Urban Spoon. I read the good and the bad with my mental troll filter on (also checking the dates as a lot can change since a 4 year old post) and then decide where I want to hand over my hard-earned cash. I guess there's Google reviews for just about anything but for shops such as this one there never seem to be any worthwhile reviews beyond "dnt take ur bt here" or something equally helpful if there is anything. It's not slander to share an unpleasant experience with a particular business and if you vaguely refer to "some dealer" other places may be mistakenly identified by people unfamiliar with the area and suffer because of it, in reputation or in business.

I spend time on a VW forum as well and experiences (positive or negative) are shared in dealing with online parts suppliers and garages with what I interpret is an intent to help owners sus out reliable services who appreciate their customers. Why is that wrong if people avoid (or ignore) obvious troll comments? It doesn't have to turn into a *****-fest.

I often lament the lack of any kind of review forum for the contractors I hire. I could save some people 100's of $1000's if I had a place to share some of my disaster stories with drilling companies...etc! And pretty much every Holmes on Homes I watch he laments the same thing!

Well here is a real professional , I'm talking about Murray and Doug , at Lordship marine on Victoria Dr, in Vancouver.
I had a problem with My 200 Ocean Pro , called him and he got me in right away , that in its self is amazing because we had no prior dealings. I told Murray I really needed the OP fixed or got to put a new Erect 200 HO on.
Murray said they would try to fix the.OP.
I go a call about 2hours later and was told the problem was and I gave them go ahead.
3 hours after that engine was done (Amazing) .
Eventhough I told Murray I was in market for new engine , if mine can't be fixed, Murray and Doug went out of their way to get it done and give the engine a going over (Again FRICKEN AMAZING)
I sea trialed the OP that night and this morning in heavy sea and it performed better the ever (Again Amazing)
All I can say is Murray and Doug from my experience are top notch and I will be selling my OP when I get back from Poetts Nook and buying that 200 Etec HO from him.
O ya got to tell ya I was concerned with lordships location on Victoria , getting my 21 ft striper in the lot, took 3 min, in fact Murray did that for me toooooo !
THANKS MURRAY AND DOUG for saving my fishing trip and restoring my faith in the marine service industry

That's awesome you finally got the satisfaction you deserved Clint. I'm sure many will now look to Lordship Marine because of your beaming recommendation.

I'm curious though, what was the problem with the motor?

I hope so Lordship Marine is the place to go !

I had to replace the Stator, Timer and Power Pack ..... had a slight melt down so since the Stator had to be done and Doug was in there got hime to do the timer and then thought hell may as well do the Power Pack now !
Feel I have a great Ocean Pro now to sell now, was rebuilt 80 hours ago and with these electronics all done should be a good buy for someone, looking to get about $4000 so if you know anyone let me know (it gets my striper going 42 MPH at 5500 RPMs WOT ).
Only reason selling it I want to get that 200 Etec HO from Murray.

I have dealt with Murray for years on two different motors (my 110 Evinrude Jet) and my now-replaced 200 FICHT. Murray has always been a stand up guy. He was instrumental in helping me rebuild my 110 and was genuinely sorry to let me know about the imminent demise of my 200 FICHT. I nearly bought the 250 E-tec off of him, but I got a terrific deal on a 250 yamaha from Parksville Boathouse. I really wanted a 4 stroker and the difference, (while substantial) was only about 10%. BTW, Parksville Boathouse was at least 10% better than any LML yamie dealership and 5% better than anyone else on the island and they did a very professional install. I would recommend Murray and Lordship Marine for any 2 stroke decisions, and Parksville boathouse for any yamaha purchases.

I just can't resist...just can't....WHATS THE FUEL ECONOMY ON THAT BAD BOY?? LOL ahhh ok I'm good. haha.

Sounds like they did one hell of a job in 3 hours to have you back on the water for an evening sea trial. Its always great to hear a retailer pulling their weight!

Ya , Amazing for sure . I was so excited during sea trial running it WOT at 5500 , doing 42 MPH for close to am hour or so, I think I burned close to 120 ltd of fuel ... IS THAT POSSIBLE ?
I usually run at 3500 RPMS / 30 MPH, Just had to giver hard at the trial , will ease up now forsure LOL

I see nothing has really changed there, when I was going to buy a new boat I went into there,to price out a new boat, and the salesman was to busy eating mc Donald's to come and give me a price on a new fishing machine. that made my disicion up right there on the spot and went with trophy

You have to figure "It must be nice to have so much money that clients and brains don't factor into your sucess in life " Just thinking out load and dont want to bash anyone, but .......... (had to do it LOL).

I had a similar experience wanting to buy a boat at Sherwood Marine near Victoria. I called, got no response. Emailed, not response for a few days. Called the manager and left a message complaining that the sales dept was not getting back to me with details on a boat. He called and promised to get the details, then forgot to call me for about ten days. Telling that story just starts a wave of over-billing, warranties not honoured and general complaint stories from other boaters. I then went to the Merc Dealer on Dallas Rd only to be overbilled for work I never requested, then given attitude. Find a trustworthy dealer with good service if you can and stick with them.

I agree and I finally found one in Vancouver by the name of LORDSHIP MARINE ON VICTORIA DRIVE , OWNER MURRAY AND MECHANIC DOUG , great guys and really honest .... he could have sold me a new Etec 200HP HO , but fixed my 200HP Ocean Pro in Three hours . I am still going to buy the Etec from him but they got my vote for Honesty, Reliability and If you need a Evin / Johnson part or service you need to go there !!

bad customer service is nothing new. look at the car and truck dealerships. i've had supper bad experirence with then and some really good one to. one dealership was going to charge me a delivering fee of 500 bucks to drive to langley from white rock to pick my truck up

This is all the more reason why crappy dealers with little or no customer consideration should be exposed pronto!.

I realize we can't be TOO Canadian and that not being nice to the point of nausea is a federal offence here.......but when a dealership or shop gets so big for it's britches that YOU the customer are a disposable peon.......then it's time to bring them down.

Word of mouth and printed word goes a long way........
