What is better thing to use,I have HD’s 9 live the app or chip

The app works on a mobile device and the chip works on a display unit so they are two similar but different things. I run both. You can explore, research and plan areas and trips with the app on your phone, but when you are underway in your boat I would have it on your display unit as this is how it is meant to be used. There is also more functionality in the chip when used with the other features of your display unit.

If you have the chip on your HDS you can do cool stuff like place a radar overlay on the chart.
