My first......

Some of you may be thinking this thread is about my first tyee. Nope.....Much more special to me than that. It`s my first born! After over 70 hours of a tough labour, my wife and I found ourselves in the operating room prepping for a cesarian. Not how we had hoped to bring our baby into the world, but there were a few reasons that we had no choice. We had a baby girl named Izzy Mae Salmons at 1:05am Sept 1. It was a very scary and stressful time for my wife and myself. She came out very pale and struggling to breath. She had a lot of meconium in her airways and stomach. They took her to the Neonatal ICU and starting treating her. It was a rough night BUT she is much much better now and is going to be fine. She has been a very strong girl and I`m so proud. We should be bringing her home in a few days. Wow, what a crazy couple days. No fishing reports from me for a little while.

Congrats....glad to here that she is doing well, and you will get to bring her home soon. There really is nothing like the birth of your children...something I will never forget.

Wow! Amazing and congratulations to all the Salmons Dave!

We had a boy first and he (now 27) is loved no less than his sister but beware my friend: you are about to be wrapped helplessly around another females finger for the rest of your days...

Best wishes to all!

Congrats Dave..........we went through a similar thing with both kids.......just not 70 hours! lol Your life has just gotten a whole lot better from here on in! :)

Congrats Dave it is defiently an awesome feeling seeing the birth of your child. I'm singal dad of three my oldest is eight and I have twins that are four. I have taken them out since day one, now they fight over who gets to wind in the next fish. You and your wife must be very proud to have beautiful little girl named Izzy.

Congratulations!!!

I have a 10 year old girl who is my best fishing buddy. She loves time on the water with the old man, I call her "my shadow". My 18 year old gal even still enjoys the odd day out fishing with the old boot here and there.

For me, when I saw my two girls born, in both instances it was the most amazing experience. It stirs emotions (even in a redneck like me) I didn't even know I had. To cool for words to describe. :)

So whats the big deal????? If you dont like this one-- you can always make another!!!!

(just kidding!!!) enjoy the trip!!)

She's ready to tag some coho........ Thanks to Bighorn for the hand me down pfd. Can't wait for daddy daughter water time.
