Mexico Fishing Trips

I am heading to a resort in Banderas Bay mid March, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a charter, and share some advice on booking, what to expect to pay including tipping bait, etc. Not really sure what species to expect down there at that time either. I am traveling with my wife and daughter (12) along with 2 other couples with girls the same age. I would be thinking 4-6 hours....
thanks in advance.

I wouldn’t recommend booking ahead as fishing can be real spotty then.

I suggest going to where the boats come back to and check out their catches. If there’s fish around they will be catching whatever species is available

If you’re going to do 6 , may as well do 8 . Gets you out to corbetena . 6 hour trips are generally trolling in the green water in the bay for jack crevalle / bonito / skippies / sierra , possibly out to el morro to fish for snapper that time of year .

Fishing with Marla’s or dhamar out of la cruz is a good option as it cuts down run time out to more desirable areas to fish . Have never had a bad trip with these guys .

are they right in Banderas Bay?

Any of you guys that over winter down in Cabo fished recently? Satfish SST charts look like the water temp has perked up over the last week to 76 - 78 F, and the fishing looks like it has followed. Wasn't sure what to book this trip as sometimes this time of year the gordo banks boys are out producing the fleet out of Cabo San Lucas , but looks to be the opposite right now with the tuna, wahoo, yellowfin and marlin bite all starting to turn on this week , so ended up booking the BB11 , a viking 37' Billfish ( apparently Vancouver owned, by the guys who own b & b construction) . Hoping the wahoo bite continues to improve so we can target them exclusively.

As luck would have it, a push of cold water, and a good blow came came through the days leading up to our day of fishing. water at the 1150 FA spot about 28 miles offshore was sitting around 69F , so food fish like dorado/wahoo/yellowfin had been very scarce , Ended up being a day of striper fishing . Fished two daisy chain surface teasers, and a sub surface dredge off the LP, with 4 ballyhoo and one dead cabbie down the centre way back. Probably spotted 12 marlin on the surface, with 6 committing , landing 4 of those, healthy sized fish 120 - 160lbs . To round out the day we also had a blind double header on 25 lb yellowfin which made dinner a bit more interesting . Solid day for whats considered one of their slower months.
