mercury and yamaha fuel connector are same?

someone told me mercury and yamaha fuel connector are same, is it truth?
if i buy a small yamaha outboard fuel tank with fuel line and connector, i can plug it in mercury outboard, right?

If they aren’t the same you can swap the ends just needs to have the right size barb, couple hose clamps and your good to go. Can tire or any marine store should stock a variety.
