Maintain Priority Access to Chinook and Coho for the Canadian Public in a New Salmon Allocation Policy. Send Your Letter to DFO!

Why doesn’t DFO have a look at the “Five Nations” TAC of Chinook and reduce their’s first? They intercept these same fish before they get to Area23 and 123!

In addition to that: They now start on April 1st with the quota sucked up from Area G Troll.

The latter can't hit the water until August after the majority of returning springs have already wandered by.

Isn't upper Fraser river FN's fish issues more to do with lower Fraser River FN's now they have ownership of most of the fish?

How are these issues ever going to be resolved an who will pay all the lawyers? And what court would have jurisdiction if the provisions of these new laws of ownership are invoked?

Had the privilege of testifying at fisheries committee Monday in Ottawa. Afterwards Ernie Klassen, Liberal MP for white rock Surrey and also parliamentary secretary to the fisheries minister approached me to chat quickly and assured me small charter businesses will not be hurt by any upcoming decisions. What that means, who knows.
Also happened to run into Gord Johns when heading to Aaron Gunn’s office and had a few min discussion with him on it. Got his attention by saying I’m from the island then he chatted with me and He said don’t worry public sector willl be fine and I said it won’t if we lose priority access on Chinook and coho. And he said I’m fairly certain from my conversations with the minister that won’t happen. He’s not in government so who knows but what he said.

Will believe it when I see it.

Mike Kelly and Owen bird and Jesse Zeman testified last week and did better than me lol. Also testified Monday with Ivan Chu and Warren Barker. Also Mike Griswold who resigned from Fraser Panel over FN having vetoes over sockeye openings last year. His testimony was good for the non conservative members to hear.

Also heard from well connected on fisheries file MP’s parliamentary assistant that skrw restrictions will be status quo. Good news (shouldn’t be any and should be bubble zone only but still). This one I believe due to who it was and how it was said. Still. We will see but hopeful for the southern island that’s the case.

Still very skeptical of what Ernie Klassen and Gord Johns said though. But better than them saying the opposite.
