IT'S TIME- FIGHT TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC FISHERY!

Help us STOP Fisheries and Oceans un-warranted attack on Canada’s most valuable salmon fishery!
DFO is proposing Southern Resident Killer Whale Chinook salmon fishing closures and contemplating giving away your allocation priority to Chinook and Coho! This is alarming to say the least!

The Public Fishery Alliance is taking your voice to Ottawa to tell government face-to-face that their proposals are just wrong and we are deeply concerned.

Your financial support is crucial

Help us STOP Fisheries and Oceans un-warranted attack on Canada’s most valuable salmon fishery!

Recreational fishing is a way of life for hundreds of thousands of Canadians who value the opportunity to bring home a healthy high protein salmon for dinner.

The public fishery is under assault by Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) - with no scientific basis for new restrictions despite high abundance levels of Chinook and Coho in Southern BC.

Why your financial support is crucial …
DFO is proposing even more closures including a “no Chinook fishing option”, to protect Southern Resident Killer Whales even though the massive closures since 2019 have not increased the SRKW population by a single whale.

DFO wants to change the long-standing Salmon Allocation Policy further reducing your access just to satisfy opponents of the public fishery.

We are sending at least three PFA representatives to Ottawa to deliver this message on behalf of every angler in BC. Be part of our campaign to make it happen.

I am part of the organizing committee for the Public Fishery Alliance on this trip to Ottawa. Myself and other PFA representatives have held three recent meetings with senior federal decision-makers, including the Senior BC Advisor to the Fisheries Minister, Joshua Linder, Morgan McCullough, Director of Operations to the Fisheries Minister, as well as MP Patrick Weiler, Chair of the Fisheries Standing Committee, and his staff.
We need your support now to travel to continue build on this efforts. Here is the GoFundMe link to donate https://www.gofundme.com/f/attention-anglers-read-this-because-you-could-lose-it-all
