What beguiles me is that for years all sectors have decried the Alaskan commercial harvest of at risk Chinook stocks only to have FNs and commies team up and sign up for the same.
Setting up meetings with your constituents is so challenging at this time. LolWow doesn’t make you want to vote for someone that has a response like that
I'd just write back in a respectful but firm tone that you can't accept that response, and as a constituent of that riding you believe you are entitled to speak directly to your elected representative. Or go down there and sit in the office until an appointment is on the books. After 2x emails to liberal MP Stephanie McLean of Esquimalt providing feedback and request for a meeting got me automated responses, my 3rd email with a tone change got me a response from a staffer.
‘Thank you for your email to MP Stephanie McLean's constituency office. Please accept our sincere apologies for the delay in getting back to you.
I want to assure you that MP McLean is very live to recent news of fisheries management and how the changes would affect folks in our riding. We have been tracking messages of concern from anglers, like yourself, and she is reviewing them. She has also met with locals, like you, here in the riding and will be meeting with others in Ottawa.
Setting up a meeting is challenging at this time, but we will make note of your request. If you would like to email in specifics of your concerns, we would be happy to share them with MP McLean and the ministry responsible.
We appreciate the time you took to reach out to our office.
Kind Regards, ‘
Elbows down butt up! Liberals!!!!Once again we get what we voted for...
Make sure you continue to reach out to your MP to express your concern. Also encourage others who like to fish like you.Great event today in Langley! Crowd was great the speakers where well spoken and facts where well presented. Makes me feel better that we have some great guy’s fighting for us!
Patrick Weiler sent his assistant Samuel who spoke at the North Vancouver Town Hall. With all the town halls has one liberal mp showed up?
Is there a list of upcoming town halls ?
Keep asking for meetings with MP's - they get the message when people are lined up at the door asking for help on issues that impact you as a constituent. We forget that the MP's work for us - cards, letters, phone calls and requests to meet in-person all help send a clear message as to the political risk this government will assume if they remove recreational allocation priority over the all citizens commercial fishery for Chinook and Coho.Wow doesn’t make you want to vote for someone that has a response like that
Patrick is a solid MP - very engaged in fishery issues and a key person to meet with and/or send your emails explaining why maintaining recreational priority for Chinook and Coho over the all citizens commercial fishery is critical to the public's interests. Government needs to understand the significant political risk that would be associated with removing our allocation priority.Patrick Weiler sent his assistant Samuel who spoke at the North Vancouver Town Hall.
