Looking For a Tuna Guide

My wife and I are keen to try tuna fishing. Our boat is too small so we're hoping to find a guide to take us out. I know that you can only go after tuna when just the right conditions line up, so a guide can't promise to make it happen. Since we have to book well in advance, I'm thinking that the best we can do is book for the most likely time of year and if the conditions are right we go tuna fishing, otherwise we go after salmon or lingcod etc.

So, can anyone recommend a guide out of the Victoria/Sooke area that might be able to find us some tuna?

Or, you know, if someone's looking for deck crew that doesn't get seasick when they go after tuna, well that'd be great!

I think you'll need to look at tofino ucluelet waters for offshore guides.
A closer option would be Westport Washington if you don't mind visiting the U.S.

If you can head to Westport in the states you can Live bait fish which is a blast. Check out Mark Coleman at All Rivers and Salt water Charters. They are the best down there and have 5 Boats that do 1 day trips.

My understanding is that the current stream you are looking for ranges from about twenty five miles to a max of ninety miles out when you are leaving from westport. I believe I have heard that it is reasonably reliable in the 40 to 50 mile range. What is the distance range when you get up near tofano? Or am I thinking about this wrong?
