Kyuquot Sound

We are planning on pulling into the sound for a day or two and was wondering about the fishing and shrimping in the area. We will be there sometime between the middle and end of August. Any help would be appreciated

Fishing should be in "pretty good" shape at that time; let's just hope this year shapes up all in all better than last year.

I was in Kyuquot in the 3rd week of July and we had to work pretty hard for springs and due to a size restriction "inshore" we were fishing them well offshore on the 'highway'. Having said that, you really don't need to run that far out as there is decent fishing closer in to shore. Not sure what time of year the coho's show up but they definitely weren't there last year for us.

Keep an eye on the DFO site to see what kind of restrictions may or may not be imposed this year.

I can't help you with prawns at all; I do know that I didn't see any floats out there at all.
