My insurance was due mid-nite 2nite
Went to renew like years of past, & to my shigrin.............I needed Air Care

My Dodge Ram 3500 was modded, & easily de-tuned to stock via a Smarty programmer
But my issue was the removal of my catalytic converter, for extra breathing in performance years B4

This surprise was a shock 2 me. I figgered to take the chance & get a fail so I can have a temp insurance for 3 months to rectify the fix, in air cares eyes

Lined up to the government air care facility & was monitoring the first stage of the test, PAYING then handing the soon 2B expired papers................Then a visual inspection in the under body, see if the cat iz there

I saw the inspector 5 vehicles ahead of me do a under body check @ every vehicle................not good!!!!!

My BS ways in talking about the sunny weather, the Nucks game winning Sunday, & the week end to come. made her forget on holding the under body mirror & to see that my cat was missing

In my silent poker like joy in bluffing, I moved to the second stage on the rollers & passed in flying colorz

Trust me praying helps................BS & personality helps 2

Will now have 2 yrs to find a 2005 Ram diesel Cat or find more gamble in me to get insurance..............lol

Forgot to say my first creep to the first stage inspector involved me moving the truck with insurance papers @ ready out the window, That struck the inspector@ the head to the desired stop point

what we did to a buddies corvette that pass the test but failed cause no catalytic was to just find an old one and take the heat shields of join the two halfs over the the exhaust and weld it on there. they only look foe the shields. took it back and still passed

2006 GMC 3500 does and me thinks when it plugs it is gonzo.

If you passed with no CAT, then your truck is running WAY too lean and you're likely missing out on tons of power and doing damage to your engine. OR....the fact that your truck passed without the cat says the aircare average emissions for vehicles like yours are possibly atrocious! Manufacturers don't spend money on emissions equipment because the equipment does SFA or is useless. You may wish to examine that issue a bit further.

My Dodge year started the cat omission in 04.5, now my 05 is air cared inspected bi yearly
The honey combed cat iz very restrictive in allowing the Cummings to breath

May have to find a used cat to butcher & weld tack the housing only to the straight pipe, so that the inspector can get a visual pass

I have not got a cat on my 3500 dodge diesel with dual exhaust and mine passed, not sure if it is really required for a diesel at aircare.

I think air care is relaxed for diesel trucks, also heard run on some biodiesel and you will pass for sure. I have a cummins 12 valve 1997 on the island so no air care here.
