Difference is where the pivit point is. A hitch extension puts more stress / leverage on the vehicle.

I read somewhere with roller trailers you can back the trailer in the water just up to the bottom of the rims.

Haven't tried that yet with my newish roadrunner.

CX90 ? nice. just dunk it in. i dunk both my mazdas in regularly.
i get the apprehension but the boat is more expensive than the car and it gets dunked in far more than the car ever would.

My trucks old and rusty, replacing parts that I dont need to and rebuilding ebrakes and replacing mufflers is a pain. I don't take mine past the rubber/bottom of the rims in salt water.

I happily take it swimming in lakes though. Nice to wash it off once in a while
