Ok Guys, Its a.......

Bayliner Cierra, 2355, 1996 with all the bells and whistles, rebuilt motor (Merc 5.3 I am not sure). What will be the correct price range (trailer included)The boat is in excellent shape, kept under Tarp, all services done .... etc.

Would it be worth that much? For a 1996 Bayliner with a rebuilt motor.

WOW..

Looking for input here guys....

Thanks and Happy New Year......

First question: Why are you looking at a Bilgeliner?

Mercruiser I\O ? Should be a 4.3L V6 or a 5.0L V8 or a 5.7L V8 and with the V8's they could be either 2 barrel (not very common) or 4 barrel if carbourated. I don't believe fuel injection was common until after '96??? but maybe. We now know fuel injection is the way to go if possible. If it is the 4.3 V6 you are getting right up to the upper range length and weight wise for offshore performance. Visualize full fuel, full water 2 or 3 guys with all the gear, beer, big fish cooler with block ice in it etc.
I would suggest a sea-trial before writing the check.... I am way out of touch on prices for used boats as I get confused looking at boat prices in the U.S. i.e. Washington, Oregon, California. There seems to be bargain after bargain with a huge selection.

If it's a 4.3L, it'll be a total slouch of a boat and gutless. You'll be running it well over 4000 rpms...wide open with 4 people on board. 5.7 minimum. It's it is MINT, then maybe 15000. Low resale on that boat.

Come on guys do you really think I would buy a Sinker/Stinker I already own a fishing machine..... I ask for a friend that really needs a true price and a option of true kind..like the best of us.. You know what I mean Right?......Bottom line...Don't be kind about this...Be truthfull..Please...

Cheers,

Oh....And thank you...

Hey FA , I don't think I need to tell ya this , but you get what you pay for !!

In my opinion there are 4 prices for every boat:

The I want/need it now price. Usually slighty above market price.
The beater price ( boat with a "few problems" ) you always seem to sink a ton of money into these luv affairs
The fair price . good condition boat , seller or buyer are not in a real hurry
The desperado price .The seller needs out. (IMHO the most dangerous purchase, most sellers want out because they know something you don't.)

In my experience paying the fair price usually works out better for the pocketbook. tell your buddy , that if he doesn't like the price walk away , chances are it will still be there next month but 3 or 4 grand cheaper.

So true...Thank You,

I've seen those "loaded" boats. Usually corroded out electronics that are completely dated. Nonetheless, and it would have to be in great shape but no more than 10-14,000......15 max
