If there's an afternoon ebb going on it can get pretty sporty out there when the NW wind comes up two-ish in the afternoon. I try and find a hidey-hole after the morning fish---sometimes it lays down real nice for an evening bite and it's worth the wait.
Or find the lee side of some of the islands chains out there ---Castle can be fished when it blows in the afternoon.
I can tell you that Jeanette is not a place you want to be when there's a big ebb tide in the afternoon...
