Can anyone recommend a decent brand and model number for a handheld VHF. My little Whaler is too small and too open for a proper one with mount, antenna etc.

Merry Christmas

I've had the ICOM M1 for about 6 years. I'm having a problem finding batteries so you may want to consider one with AA batteries. I'll be buying another ICOM again.

i have the m2a, it takes both types of batt's, they plug in NICAD and u can put AA's in as well so no problem, i had another one last yr which was stolen, i forget the name but it was sweet, basically same as what i have but it also had a plug in for a cig lighter, i got it at west marine on sale for under a 100, good deal, i got my latest icom for 50 off usedvictoria, good luck in you search
