Damm I leave on a Cariboo Fly fishing trip for a week on the 27th, miss this derby but I'm sure I'll be ok in the pontoon boat for a week

Good news is if you are fishing the mud hole there should be a boat 50 ft on either side of you to rescue you if you get in trouble!!

Day one was a bust for us. Fished from 6:45 till noon in the ugly slop west of Sooke with nothing to show but 2 Dogfish.
My 1st halibut skunk in 5 trips

Not fishing the durby but going out tomorrow on a friends boat. Tight lines to those out on sunday going after the prize!
