Kind of a loaded question?? Is there a better option? More tac and 2/3 would of course be better. Your poll dosen't make sense to me.

it will Ken , theres more comin , i will prob include this slot size in the final poll since it was such a huge success last season.. id be amased if it was brought back , theres other ways , m2b

just lookin at ideas , getting info and options out to EVERYONE..
if the slot worked for ya , great , then vote for it , im ok with that..

lets just farm halibut up and down the coast, hundreds of sites... we could seine up all the herring/pilchards, turn them into pellets and we'd be good to go??? This would take pressure off the wild ones so we would all benefit, no?

Polls are fraught with loaded questions. It's better to have more single questions than trying to pack too many ideas into one. It's a tricky thing to design a poll. Researchers take months to figure out the right questions, and they have a hard time.

No slot size at all. One and done or 2 and done is a way better for any fish be it halibut or salmon. To many fish are harmed as people farm though them to get the slot size. That all said 12 halibut trips for me and only 1 halibut but did end up with another 6 trolling for salmon.

Yearly limit with tags that must be attached to fish after its caught! I would pay for a Halibut stamp if I knew the money wasent going to DFO!

Can't answer this question without more info. If i vote no to the slot limit am i voting for 1/2 no slot or 1/1? I prefer 1/1 and a longer season if TAC is similar to last year. Halibut TAC has not increased since I started fishing for them so I'm not sure why a few guys think it might go up next year I expect it to go down.

I think even the commie slippers like low TAC... Less fish to catch = higher price per pound.

I think what guys are saying is the available TAC should be balanced out more fairly between recreational and commercial not 85 percent/15percent. it would solve lots of issues but what Im being told by most is this is impossible this year. Or next.......

I agree with that in full duffer. Both that 85/15 should be increased on the sport side and that there is no chance it will change next year. I think out goal should be to acquire another 5% over the next 5 years. It can't happen all at once we must be reasonable. Hopefully 20% would be enough for a good season but maybe not

If the allocation to the sportsfishing sector remains the same for 2013 i vote to keep the slot in place to keep the season open as long as possible so everyone can get a chance to catch some

If a skipper hasn't personally his own quota for five years, They lose it! Possibly have a halibut stamp, proceeds could be used to permanantly buy quota from existing commercial holders. Nobody likes to pay for this quota that never should of been permanantly given to them. With total quota reduced for commercial, the price per pound will increase.
