Garmin 178 GPS

Hey all
Anyone have a garmin 178? how do you like it? any problems? I am looking at at buying one and was wondering how the black and white compares to the color one for detail

I have used the Garmin 172C for about a year, very happy with it
Go for the colour unit if you can swing it.
very easy to see even in sunlight

I have the 178 and its great, but would definetly go for the colour and dual frequency transducer if i was to do it over again.

I bought the 178C about a year ago. No regrets. It is my first colour screen and will NOT be my last...colour is the way to go! I've had no issues in bright light. Dual frequency transducer is also a sound investment if chasing anything in deep(er) waters. As I have discovered with most Garmin products, they are easy to use so you don't have to take the manual with you all time.
