but that truck "Maddog" is awesome, i like the looks of lifted 92-97 F350

now ford has the 2008 6.4L Twin Turbo diesels. those will haul something like 30lbs of boost and 400+hp![:0] STOCK!

I've read that Ford has really tested the crap out of the 2008 twin turbo engine.... 10 million miles (4 million real street miles and 6 million on dynos).

Going back to my original post, how is the normal driver going to keep the '08 from clogging up because he can't work the engine enough.
Twin turbo's and twin EGR's and twice the problem IMHO.
The average Joe doesn't need 400 HP and all that torque. Although pulling a 20,000 pound boat is appealing.:)

They are not "twin" turbos, they are a sequential design. Small turbo feeding a large turbo to avoid lag off the start. I want to see a few of 'em after 100,000 miles! They emmissions system on them is crazy, they have a particulate filter that is supposed to catch all of the black stuff in your exhaust. It "cleans" or "regenerates" as Ford calls it by squirting some deisel in your combustion chamber on the exhaust stroke, therebye lighting a fire in your exhuast and cleaning this thing out.

I don't like the idea of the truck giving itself a "douche" with fuel intented to burn something up under where I sit. They had to modify the exhaust tip so it didn't burn the paint off where it exits LOL! This is one of the many points made by several of the Ford mechanics on a Ford Trucks site I am a member of!.

Then again, people probably thought turbos were a bad idea when they first came out for Deisels aeons ago too.

I thought I read somewhere the thing had 6 water cooled EGR's? I could be wrong tho. There were unloading on yesterday at the Ford dealership on the Colwood strip. Maybe time to check it out!

My 04 6.0 litre is looking better and better!I would let a couple of years go by before buying the newer version.I may even go back to a gas engine since the price of diesel is now more.
