Effective 00:01 hours March 1, 2026, until 23:59 hours March 31, 2026, the daily limit for Chinook Salmon is two (2) per day, hatchery-marked only (retention of unmarked Chinook is not permitted).
These measures apply in the following waters:
Subareas 19-1, 19-3, 19-4, and Subareas 20-4 to 20-7 (those waters near Victoria between Cadboro Point and Sombrio Point).
New for 2026: The use of hooks having more than one point is prohibited (i.e., only single barbless hooks are permitted) when fishing for salmon in the above noted waters from March 1 to March 31.
Reminder: The minimum size limit for Chinook in these waters is 45 cm.
