Anybody been fishing Baitsbeach area lately. thanks Snowwhite

Will be out there today (Bates Beach/Courtenay) and will let you know how things were.

Picked up a thirteen lber. this morning around tide change on a Radiant tiger prawn. Tons of small shrimp and tons of bait feeding on them. Of the four boats I was out with I was the only lucky one it seemed. Half a dozen seals hanging about looking for a freebie. Managed to whinch mine in before it got ripped off. eman

More to report but CS landed a nice 12 to 14 pounder on MyEscape. Tons of bait every where, saw a few other springs boated. Reports of one boat landing 4 and another landing two with other fish lost to seals, out of the 7 boats that were fishing the kitty coleman area yesterday afternoon. One that we saw landed looked to be in the high teens low twenties.

Cheers ME

Thanks MyEscape sounds good to here of fish and bait. Its starting to pick up here in CampbellRiver. The lighthouse Brownsbay area are starting to produce fish. So i hope its starting for good things to come thanks Snowwhite

I'll be heading to browns bay saturday morning.
any recent reports?
any depths?
I was planing to fish browns in the morning and then to deepwater
around noon and then back to browns . Should I stay in one spot ?[8D]

There's fish still out there, real scratchy trying to get them.
Nothing in Greensea and Chatham that would be worth the gas to get there yet.
I was out on Wednesday and saw almost no bait anywhere between C.R. and Kitty. Heard Tuesday)about some seal meals being had by some transients but I guess Chris found one they missed.:D

I feel your pain Chris. I had a real beauty on the week before only to have a seal scoop it just as I was grabbing my net. The same one probably. They get fairly good at it in my experiance. Predatory seals should be fair game. eman

This is mixed reviews everyone I talk to has extremely different opinions of how good it is and where to go if any place at all. Sounds fishy??lol:D:D

Just thought id let you guys know. That the deep off capemudge is on fire right now.Lots of fish and bait.Fishing in the300ft area at 250ft.Lures being yoused are jacksmith armytruck purplehaze hoochies. As fore the seal problem they are leaveing you alone for the most part.Because there is lots of eats for them right now.Goodluck snowwhite

Fished bates beach yesterday, I didn't see any fish caught. One guy claimed to catch one and lost it up close to the boat. I switched from jacksmith to herring and caught lots of dogfish. Gotta love the dogfish. [:p] [:p] Hey snow are you missing some letters off your boat because I saw a boat yesterday that said no white. Do you have to fish the ebb because its early & late in the day?

Hey EagleQuest - Snowwhite is my call sign and I'm an Oak Bay Marine Guide. There have been fish caught on the flood tide out in the deep, but at times it can sure sweep your downrigger cables around. Best to fish the flood on the first couple and last couple of hours. Tide won't be pushing as hard then. Get out in the 300ft area, and fish 250ft. Find the bait fish on your sounder and it's game on. Jacksmith and Armytruck cuttlefish are working well right now. Good luck. Just look for our boats out there - we should be on the fish.

Thanks for the info. I will try again today. If at first you don't succeed..... I 've been working towards this for only the last 10 years.

Snowwhite, have you been up to Brown's Bay lately? If so, any action? I was there yesterday and again this morning (stayed overnight in my camper) but the water was too rough for my blood[:0] so I stayed on shore. I guess it will stay windy if this high pressure ridge stays parked where it is. It seems this is the time the fish should be there? If you see my 18.5' Malibu, "Tanglefoot", give a wave.

Tom

Hey Urchin was up there thursday late afternoon. The wind was down for once. I didnt hit any fish but there was two hit in browns and one in deepwaterbay. All were hit on bait120 140ft.the dogfish have moved in to.It is that time of the year for that area to turn on.Most of the boats are fishing the south end of Quardra island. Still seems to be alot of fish down there. goodluck Snowwhite
