Fishing partners

Hi everyone I would be into a club like that I have lots of time and a nice boat but most friends work during the week and not all into fishing. Like to get out sometime this week.

Great input. I have asked the administrator to explore a bulletin board or something. I agree that it needs some level of expectations setting and Ian summed it up nicely. Thanks Ian. In my case, I do like people to pay for some gas and bring their own food, and some gear (whatever they get lucky with). Im fine with using my riggers/rods/etc, but spoons to get lost and its fair to mix it up a bit. Maybe its reasonable to ask for gas and to split the cost of any gear lost (which is usually none).
But Im interested in learning what others think is a reasonable deal.

Still searching for a fishing buddy to go fishing with. I am not looking for a free fishing trip. And I don't own a boat myself to be able to share with you in return. I am just travelling to Vancouver Island the first time. Hoping to meet the local fisher-lover to show me their beautiful island and water. Don't have much experience of ocean fishing. But willing to learn, to help, and to share the cost. I don't care if your boat is new/old/big/small/clean/ugly. I don't mind any type of fishing... offshore/ deep sea/ bottom fishing/ onshore, or just at the fishing pier. Just want to go fishing.
I will be flying to Comox on Jun 22, travel to Tofino between Jun 24-28, back to the Qualicum Beach side of the island on 28th - Jul 1. If anyone would like to spend a day fishing together. Pls PM me. If we are not going out to share a charter. I am willing to treat you for dinner just to say thank you for showing a kind heart and friendship to me.

It might also be a good idea to state whether your boat is "smoking allowed" or "non-smokers only".

I myself am a smoker on my boat.......

Funny thing;--- I know this guy that doesn't smoke at all on land......ever. One time we went out on his boat and he lights up a kingsize Export. I said ..."what the heck?.......you don't smoke!.....what gives?"
He says " I smoke when I'm fishing".

I worked with the guy allday on my job....and I never saw him smoke once on land in 15 years......go figure......

I have a few people looking for a shared charter during that time frame, probably the 24th. PM me if you're interested in trying to put something together

Actually it doesn't matter. There allot of clean air out there. As a guest on someones boat I can except it. It's drinking alcohol that I believe makes safety an issue. So just to clarify I don't own a boat . So if there is someone going out alone and wants company give me a shout . I have my own gear and I test out the CJ lures.

Bump.

I know I'm a forum rookie, so trust and respect hasn't been established or anything , yet.

Just curious if there would ever be any interest from members that just want to get out on the water on short notice or for a shorter period without having to prepare, travel, launch, etc. In the area 4th week of June to third week of July.

I don't have anything luxurious, just a 14' tinny - Westcoaster welded, new 20 horse Yamaha, electronics, riggers (hoping to upgrade they're manuals), etc

Proposing trade for possible open seat(s) and equipment for local knowledge and experience but more just some company.

And no I'm not looking for someone to teach me how to fish or show me what to do. :D I've had quite a bit of success in my limited experience and am also passionate about conservation.

If something like this may be of intereset, let me know. There's only 125 days to plan...

I always get to the boat launch with a full tank, and fill it up after the trip (sometimes one day, sometimes 4 days ) That way the fuel bill is 100% accurate and nobody pays too much or to little. I also tell guys, whatever gear we lose, we split equally. I also "charge" guys on my b oat a Ten spot each for the local hatchery (usually port renfrew). I once had a guy complain about it and say he's not paying it. His whole four day trip cost him about $300 bucks, and he wonders why he hasn't been asked to go fishing again. Some guys get it, and others are clueless.
