Fishing Close to Bamfield?

Hi guys. I am camping with friends at Bamfield on the weekend of July 10, and I plan to bring the tiny boat. I have fished the sound many times, but this particular boat is too small to travel to the spots I know. So, are there any productive areas close to Bamfield? If the forecast is good, I don't mind traveling a little ways, but in a (fully equipped) 10' inflatable, I really need to put safety first. That said, I'd prefer to go slabbin' but solid bottom fishing is a close second. Also, is it worth bringing the crab traps? Thanks.

Run out of the harbour and turn left or right.... you are there!

Out of the harbour and turn right and you are at "the Wall". It can be very productive.

It was on fire there last week. The fish were mostly under 10lbs, but there was a bite all day long on both sides of the harbour mouth. Got an 18 there as well and lost another few good ones. The bigger fish seemed to be a bit deeper. Try around 100-120 feet on the downrigger.

fish the wall to the left of the harbour, or infront of tyee lodge on the right is good. or if the weather is good hit up widdlestone its always a sure bet for a nice one. its the rocky bluffs inbetween beal and bamfield harbor.

I've caught one in front of the store on the west side [8D]
