Fish and Chips Hands or Fork and Knife

Been having an argument with a buddy for the past hour now over how your supposed to eat fish and chips. Personally I eat it with my hands, but my buddy thought I was out of my mind. I was hoping to settle this and see what you guys think.

Just had fish and chips for supper and the only fork involved was used to lift the fish out of the oil.

Two hands are not needed for eating fish n chips. One hand for fish n chips, one clean hand for beer. Same goes for wings. One hand or you’re a rookie

Big part is the batter if it keeps nice and crispy use hands if it wilts well maybe you need a fork and try a new recipe or restaurant next time.

If you are going to eat fish and chips with your hands then it should be served on a newspaper or in specially made chip papers (grease proof).
Since the UK is the land of fish & chips I have yet to see someone there eating with their hands when it's served on a plate.

the secret to being able to eat the fish with your fingers is to let it cool of a little, then it will break into nice portions that you can dip into the sauce. Chips (not fries, altogether different thing)with fingers unless you have gravy or cheese curds mixed with gravy or heaven forbid mayonnaise. Ketchup on the side please
