Just some old gear from the crawlspace

I was rummaging around and found a tacklebox at my parent's house. I think my dad bought more fishing gear than inhad thought. Some old, original Delta Tackle stuff (in the box pre Gibbs-I went to school with the owners kid), a Les Davis Kelp-Kutter flasher, a Mehler Tackle Flashy 8", some Tom Mack's, and others. Cool find. I'll fish it.

And this one. A Super Diamond. No hook. Anyone ever fish one?

That half & half Tom Mack is absolute murder and a thin stripe of blue tape on that Super Diamond is an old trick for winter Spring fishing.
Sweet! I will try that. Tom Mack's were my dad's favourite until he learned about hootchies. He was a Sailor but apparently fished more than he let on lol! He had a bag of hootchies he got from Delta Tackle directly back in the day. (1980's).

I think i better break out the gloves....that and I now have a bench grinder.....so can get a polishing wheel.
You probably know this, but don’t use the buffing wheel on these modern shiny spoons, it’s a thin coating that comes off very easily, and then the brass below starts to poke through. Even Brasso should be used very lightly, or the plating is not there for long.

A little update. Found some more old ones in the attic. Real old. Except the plug that found over 30 years ago on the beach in Tofino. I may just have to fish all this stuff. But don't tell anybody, because it says right on the packaging that they are made and sold exclusive for uses in commercial fisheries only!
