I wonder if gill nets will be identified as an issue. I noticed one line said mortalities increased after a rare recreational sockeye opening.....

Wonder how much this is costing tax payers to come to the conclusion that most have known for yrs from past pic of sturgeon hanging in abandoned nets

There were many small and large dead sturgeon drifting along with the tides this year. I was witness to several. There were public broadcasts of FN sockeye fisherman with their skiffs full of dead sturgeon. Which led to privatisation of said Facebook images and posts, and DFO asking the question of who shared those posts...? Some were found dead with thier tails cut right off. Most has visible net markings. Now the FN groups are trying to pin it on climate change, water temps, and the odd ( coincidental ) fresh water/tidal water in-river opening for sockeye for rec sector. Just a shame what were dealing with here. I wish we could all be on the same team for once. Something has to change here.
