That is way too soon to shut it right down. Nope not blaze king... The newer ones are harder starting depends what year you have..Only telling you what I tested them too, and BTU output... They need at least on hour or so on high to medium high to get going close to therm equilibrium then add fuel, and turn them down.... When you do that you should see bluish/orange flames shooting down a little on glass coming from the baffle...That is the secondary gases burning, and your air wash system... The secondary gas burn are what makes it efficient..
When shut them down to soon you get smoking, and may not get secondary burn... If you clean your glass all the time your shutting it down to fast...
