What spoon size and colour have you had success with. Specifically on WCVI north. I have always stuck with Coyote 6.0 Cop Car but I am sure other colours would produce as well or better

Last time over in Ukee, my 10 year old son insisted to buy a large tomic spoon - white with pink spots - not sure what number or name it has.

To me it looked like something that would never catch a fish, but he was adamant to buy it since Bonnie at Pioneer said she sold lots of them.

First couple of times we used it, it caught nothing.

Then I decided to run it at 4 mph with a plug on the other side and the action we got on it from then on was almost non stop! Many fish in the twenties and the biggest on was 36 lbs.

I will definitely be running that spoon again while in Ukee this coming weekend.

We have been using the wonderbread and the watermelon in a variety of lengths with great success this year. As Enniberg pointed out speed does make a difference. My son and his buddy were cruising the town of Tofino on the August long weekend and my son's buddy bought a blue magoo spoon with his spending money from Method Marine. He bought it just because of the name. Well they insisted on fishing it the next day and low and behold he caught a nice 15 lber with it at Austin Island and that was his first salmon ever:).

Tomics and Titans. A few $$$ but man do they catch fish!!

I have not had much luck with Coyote spoons as I find they bend and warp when the big fish are on.

Plus you cannot beat the old 50/50 Wonder, Krippled K, Tom Mack or FST spoons for springs or coho. I fish a few of these every year and they do well, especially on the outside.

Cheers

Sculpin, that fish I braggingly lifted up to show you that day we trolled up to you while on our way home on the south bank a couple of weeks ago was the first fish we had caught on that Tomic spoon - it was 26 lbs and our biggest fish of that day.

We will be back in Ukee this weekend - fishing Saturday to Monday.

atomic #500 7". got 6 tyees last year on it. a 43 and 36 in one day. it gets mostly big ones. troll it fast 3.5-4 mph, and a kone zone dummy flasher. ;)

large tomics are the ticket
we like 512G (cop car) and 639G
6inchers, you'll still catch smaller fish but in smaller quantities, more big fish.

Don't stop reelin!

I just assumed that a Coyote 6.0 was a 6" spoon - until I measured it one day and found it's really only 4 1/2 inches.

Why is it a 6" Tomic is really only 5 1/2 inches?

I think the women members on the forum may be more qualified to answer that question.
