That's just too pretty!View attachment 104421View attachment 104422
My dad has this one on his display shelf . Not sure the era of it but it’s nice and shiny
PEETZ Manufacturing (1977) Ltd. Is the official name for that era. Bill Hooson bought the company directly from the Peetz family in 1977. That decal only appeared for a short time in about 1979.That's just too pretty!
Here's one my Dad had to use fishing off Tsawwassen way back. I inherited it but had stuffed it away for 15 years or so. I stripped off the old line, lubed it, cleaned it up a bit. It's still in useable condition with nothing worn inside. IT says 1977 on the sticker but I don't know if that's the year of manufacture or not.
I've been meaning to post these pics for ages.
I fished with that exact model when I was a young teenager 64 years ago. I loved that reel. After SpringFever552 posted pics of his Mitchell spinning reels I was kicking myself for not buying the one I saw at a local antique shop prior.
Well I thought I’d look in again yesterday and found this beauty in pristine condition:
I also found this link to the year of manufacture by model: https://mitchellreelmuseum.com/list-of-all-mitchell-reels-1939-1989/
i had three of these collecting dust to i took them to the Trading Post. there’s still one of them there. the reality is i would never use them. nice reels to be sureThe Garcia Mitchell 300 series of Spinning Reels is iconic. I still have several that I regularly fish with that my father and his fishing partner purchased and fished with in the late 50's Early 1960's, They work as well today as they did then ! A connection to the past and many great days on the water.

PEETZ Tackle Ltd. was from 1967 to 1973A family member kept these reels, with line, attached to old school rods. Maybe from the 70’s? They still make a great ratchet sound when I peel line. Kinda like closing the door of a solid 60’s car. Quality.
Are you running a spinner above your hoochie? If so can you show me how it’s set up.Going OG Tomorrow morning.
