Cuts of meat on sale

When Save On had their last rack of lamb sale, I went in to collect another handful.
They only had 2 left.
Mentioned to the butcher I was looking for more.
He gave me a time unlimited, amount unlimited Rain Check on the spot.

The new stock landed today.
Eight more racks in hand.
Between what I have on hand and that lot, it should suffice for a spell methinks.

Cheers

Thriftys Quadra/ McKenzie. This store only. Pork Back Ribs $5.49 per lb/ $12.10 per kg. Save $5.00 per lb apparently.
Good enough advertising to make me buy some today. I think good deal.

I was at Thrifty Foods today to pick up Prime Rib at 35% off reg price. They had bone in roasts for $ 16.57lb (reg price $25.49). They had boneless rib eyes also for $16.57lb. I picked up four steaks and a 3 bone roast at the butcher counter. total cost was $327 but on sale price $212.55.
Photos, roast and one of the steaks for the BBQ to night.
Sale ends Weds. April 23.

I cut the bones off the roast for future slow cooked ribs.3 bone and steak.jpg

The boneless rib eyes at thriftys sound like a good bet.

I too cut off the bones, a little generously. You don't miss them and they are great another day.

I went down the Costco tri-tip worm hole today. They were not on sale, but cheaper than most beef at 15 something per kg.
After a YouTube on butchering I made 7 packs of small steaks and 3 for stir fry, plus the 2 steaks we had tonight from the double pack of "roasts" that cost $66.00.
Marinated, grilled, then cut on a bit of a bias like we used to do with flank steak before everyone else figured out it tasted good and the price went way up.
