Canucks 2024/25

I say trade EP40, whatever it costs. Anyone who can turn their talent on or off at will because they have a personal issue with a teammate is dead wood. If they keep him, the risk is always there that he'll do it the next time someone offends him. The window of risk exposure is there as long as he is. We've crossed the line where it'll cost more to keep him than trade him.
 
Unfortunately both Miller and EP40 need to go. This core cannot get the job done so move them out while they still have some value.
 
I don't think you can point at one person or part of the team and say thats the main reason they're playing poorly. Imo theres lots of blame to go around, from ownership( which is non existent), to management which has been completely silent this season and done nothing to change the many holes in the d this year, to the players and Rick. Dump and chase over and over again isn't working especially when your not even winning the races to recover the puck. One consistent from game to game is how easy the team is making it for the other side to just walk right in front of the net and have as many chances as possible. There's zero worries about a big defenseman standing up and making a big hit at the blue line or even in the canucks end except for maybe myers. It seems management decided to just try and build around Hughes and go for all speed and skill without any thought for toughness or size. Watching a team like the Jets you see a true playoff built team with size, skill and grit. Nucks have the skill but not size or toughness. Losing big Z was a big loss for the back end. I keep hoping there will be a big trade to bring in some size on the defensive end but at this point i doubt it. But hey, at least we beat the Leafs! 😂

Having a marquee player withhold effort because of a personality clash with a teammate is a cancer that afflicts the entire team. Sorry, but that's complete sh*t. How can anyone in the team trust him? He could pull this stunt again any time.

There is no point in tackling any other health issue until the cancer has been removed. The money and other contractual issues don't matter. Trade Miller, and the EP40 cancer remains, could flare up again anytime. Or worse, spread to other parts of the body.

I love the way Pettersen plays - when he wants to. But not trying because JT called you out on your sh*t, that is just not on.

I think EP40’s contract plays a factor, when your getting paid McDavid, Matthews, McKinnon money but putting up 2nd/3rd line centre point production it’s going to leave a burr in the saddle of players like Miller. Miller is taking matchups against the other teams top lines, leaving the door open for Petey to flourish, which he is not. I think we would all see EP40 in a less negative light if he was making Boeser money. You need players with the talent like Petey in your lineup, but at this point he’s looking overpaid.

While I don’t disagree with you, I just think the problems with this team are more than that one issue.
 
I was impressed with EP25's defensive play; covered his guys and didn't throw the puck away. Blueger had a good game as well as a number of the other support staff. Hronek made a bunch of mistakes, sadly. Canucks couldn't get the puck out of their own D-zone for the 1st half of the first period. Passing, for the 2nd and 3rd, was much better, as the Canucks figured out the Caps lane blocking.

Agreed with the babies part, getting paid to play fn hockey, be the professionals you are supposed to be..smh

I've heard this argument over and over but I completely disagree. These guys have been surrounded by enablers their entire lives. They've been pampered and pumped up ever since someone saw some potential in them. These are not well rounded, stable and mature humans. They're childish, frat boy primadonnas. The ones that aren't, are the exception.
