Canucks 2024/25

Well just when it looked like the boys put a decent game together they just stop skating and let 4 in in the last 7 minutes. Painful to watch one seattle player skate through 4 canucks in front of the net and hack the puck into the net. Can anyone tell me how Soucy and Juulsen are in the NHL? both minus 8 and horrendous D players
I think Tocchet is on thin ice after this game. Last 10 minutes was a poor display of attitude by most players esp those two guys that you mentioned.

Overtime is a possession game and the Canucks could not maintain possession. To many long passes which did not connect.

At a certain point you wonder if his style isn't getting through as we keep seeing the same thing over and over with the team. I have no idea why he didn't call a time out in the last 5 min when it was clear the team stopped trying. And then to put Myers out in ot?! wth was that? Canucks D has always been their weak spot year after year but they've gotten by with a goalie thats stood on his head. But this year they have 1 top D pairing and thats it, the rest are pylons and our goalies aren't bailing them out like previous years.

I think the big issue this year is actually the heightened expectations after last year, fuelled by the unsustainable shooting percentage of last year’s first half. They couldn’t miss in the first half of last year and the ridiculous scoring rate and good goaltending masked the defensive deficiencies. This year, the scoring has largely dried up, and as soon as the top D pairing goes down, we see the effects of a really thin blue line and that they are really just an average team with one defenceman who masks a lot of the team’s warts. I think their signing of Desharnais, who couldn’t stay in the lineup of a defensively-challenged Oilers team, was telling. They thought they could coach him to be a legitimate NHL d-man, but the reality of that has exposed how thin the organization is on the backend.

I think it was just a matter of time before Demko got hurt again , Miller seems so disengaged , it feels like they are all waiting for a trade to happen
Miller honestly doesn’t look like he wants to be there. Even when the canucks score and he’s on the ice he isn’t even cracking a smile during the cellys. Didn’t even look happy after scoring in the shootout. Nice to see Garland get a nice goal and lankenin come in for the save.

Pretty quiet on this tread ... , the old adage of " if you dont have anything nice to say dont say anything " comes to mind , back to pvring the games and fast forwarding , so unfortunate that last year was so promising and this year is so bad , oh well hopefully the canucks brass pulls off a good trade and this gets back on the rails , whether its this year or over the summer , cheers

I've been doing that as well. It's like watching Oak Island now. 2 minutes of worthy content and the rest goes by at lightning fast forward speed.

Lol , ive been watching that oak island show for too long waiting for something to happen , should be a drinking game , every time the voice over guy says rick and marty lagina take a drink
Should be a drink when they say “is it possible that”
Would not make it through a show before on the floor

I do exactly that. FF thru anything to do with the Knights Templar or the mumbo jumbo about Nolans Cross. I fully expect to tune in one night and Billy Gerhardt will be no longer. He's going to need a bigger excavator soon.

The guys and I were discussing this last night after our hockey game. Normally, in situations such as this, coaching is called into question. It seems however that management is committed to Tocchet, and he is probably not the issue anyway. As far as Oak Island is concerned, can't watch it any more because nothing seems to really happen.

They are paying for four head coaches right now I think. Coaching is not the problem. Maybe Miller will lay Petey out in the 4 Nations tournament and everything will be good when they return. Or just blow the team up and rebuild now.
