My dad is looking at getting a campion 492cc over the next few months and I'm just wondering if anyone in the Nanaimo area has one and I can come have a look at it? I've tried searching for info but it's hard to find some details about the boat. I read that it's self bailing but not all seem to have theu hulls on the outside? Just trying to find more details about the boat and if people like the hull for our waters for the calmer days

I had one. None are self bailing that I’m aware of. I enjoyed fishing out of it. It really depends what you want to do with it. It’s gets small fast. No good place to keep fish. I would probably go 16ft alum tiller handle instead.

It'll be used for some fishing and gulf island cruising. I've found a few for sale in the US that says they are self bailing but maybe it's the newer 2010+ models

I also had a campion 165. Great little boat but like Randall sed its little. Poor use of space and storage. Miss the simplicity and ease of use / launch tho
