braided downrigger line

200 or 400 ' though-- make sure your getting the 400' spool got the 400' spool at pacific net for about 52 bucks i'm hoping we'll get a couple of seasons with it

2 years and still going strong with 200 # Power Pro. I watch the first number of feet and have only had to trim off about 5 feet in over 2 years.

250lb braid

I've used the Scott braid for the past 4years and I love it,I buy the 500 ft spools that way if you are fishing at 200 and it was to break off some how you still have enough to con tinue fishing at the deep depths that you might need.I use the landyard method with the swivel works awesome and use the little black stops that you crimp on then they don't slide the plastics slide if I use them I double them up next to each other to prevent sliding.love the braid just for the fact of no getting stuck in the finger from that frickin wire.

I forgot to say that I use 60in booms so it well away from the boat and is easy to tie great knots.

I am love my Scotty braid, and won't go back to wire. The wire may be a tiny bit more fishy, but the 300lb Scotty braid keeps your gear fishing. IT doesn't cut your hands all to sh*t, and I can still hit bottom at 250 feet on those hard deep days on the WCVI.

I was sold when fishing Christopher Point one year in the Boozers derby, hung up, and it stopped the boat. My swivel mount was never the same, and it's good the rigger was pointing backwards, but man, I go through maybe 4 or 5 balls a year instead of 10 or 20.

Fishing WCVI 100 feet down at 4 Knts in a 6-10 foot swell is murder on the line compared to trolling sheltered waters, even the Power pro 200 didn't cut it for me there, but worked great off Victoria.

If I had something stronger on the side of my boat to bold the riggers to (Glass boat, flexible sides), I't buy the new Scotty riggers and run 20's.
