I am looking for a new family friendly boat and have many of the same requirements that Raincity had - the most stringent is outboard only.
This Monaro 27 is not outboard but checks so many other boxes. I would need to add a big bench seat behind the two helm seats.
I’ve never stepped foot on a Monaro. Any input from members. Is this worth exploring?
Is a diesel inboard such an awful thing? Seems like this is a boat that has been pampered over the years.
Thoughts? Thank you

Monaros are good solid boats - solid west coast hull made in Steveson, for west coast waters. I was close to getting one over the years, but my Hourston obsession runs deep haha.
My only critique (which could also be viewed as a benefit) is that I find the beam to be a little narrow. The narrower beam does provide better performance in head-on seas, but I like have a little more east-west room for my purposes. Beam width is definitely less of an issue in the Monaro 27' (I was moreso looking at Monaro 21s and 23s), mind you.
You'd be stoked on that rig. She looks great. Take her for a sea trial for the full family and see how it feels! All the best.
