Ya, I'm curious too if anyone knows the story. I'm in the process of a full refit on one of these. Would be good to know what's gone wrong for others with them.

Refit as in balsa and fibreglass job or more so wiring and interior? I’ve seen a couple for sale recently in Alaska (one was yellow)… curious though this model is getting up there in age
Must be the one. I only heard the story 2nd hand. I believe it hit a log while off shore. I think enough it was rebuilt, new engines, fiberglass, wiring etc.
Take that with a grain of salt as the extent of damage I am not sure.

That would do it.
Some core where needed, gel coat repairs, fuel tanks, engines, full electrical. I'll start a thread later this year once it's back from the fiberglass guy.
They are mid range in build quality. Some sloppy work where you can't see it and general cutting corners like caulking the cabin bulkhead to the floor instead of glassing the joint.

Here is another funny tinny... Nice trailer with it. Probably will need new power sooner than later.
Never heard of the company. Read about the manufacturing process - sounds pretty advanced. Aussie boat made in Taiwan. When I was younger mountain biking was my biggest passion - the Taiwanese had an excellent reputation for manufacturing aluminum bike frames. Sounds like they are borrowing some of the bike frame technology manufacturing these hulls.

It was a well-known brand way back when. The hull here is 30 years old now so the brand name is less important compared to the general condition and maintenance/upkeep of the boat & systems.
As always, if you're serious about the boat, send a deposit and then line up a marine surveyor & mechanic to give the boat a once-over before completing the purchase. Sea trial is mandatory too
