Too much. That I/O will nickel and dime you to death. Look for the same boat with an outboard. Not to mention the deck space. Thank me later![]()
Finn Chaser - Sea Sport Explorer
Sea Sport Explorer that has had great maintenance and care. Boathouse kept since 2006 except a couple of months each summer. Set up for fishing and crabbing/prawning or just cruising around the coast. Excellent opportunity to get a good vessel with the Sea Sport reputation. <price>www.pacificboatbrokers.com
Whats the thoughts on this bad boy. I wonder if I offer 80 they would take it?
seems very odd...Not my cup of tea, but isn't this a reasonable price for a 2 year old boat?
2021 Jeanneau nc 695. $89,000

I agree, but you guys all know what my take is on I/oToo much. That I/O will nickel and dime you to death. Look for the same boat with an outboard. Not to mention the deck space. Thank me later
I don't... What is your take on that engine?I agree, but you guys all know what my take is on I/o
I/O in general is the theme.I don't... What is your take on that engine?
It’s a 350 gm block, adapted to marine use, good engine, problem with me is I have never owned one that made it past a 1000 hr, and lots of maintenance to keep them running, if your not mechanically inclined and send it to shop all the time, it will kill your bank acc a thousand at the time . Lots of the basic stuff you need to pull the engine out to get to it, the engine well is just not friendly to every piece of metal sitting down thereI don't... What is your take on that engine?
Is this because of the luxury tax?Significant pricing drops on new boats 20% and some sale prices on outboards.

Also the builders tried to make the dance floor as large as possible by making the dog house as small as possible, and it is a huge PITA to work on anything below and around the motor. Small block Chev is a good motor, parts are plentiful. It’s a 350 gm block, adapted to marine use, good engine, problem with me is I have never owned one that made it past a 1000 hr, and lots of maintenance to keep them running, if your not mechanically inclined and send it to shop all the time, it will kill your bank acc a thousand at the time . I’m sure 22% tax does not help combined with interest rate hikes. Even used boats in the 90-150k that are not subject to it are not moving quickly so it is more available cash.Is this because of the luxury tax?
I have a buddy here at Telegraph Cove that has 4600 hrs and counting on his 350 Volvo block. He is beyond anal on maintenance and cleaning it. You would swear it's a brand new install when you look at it.It’s a 350 gm block, adapted to marine use, good engine, problem with me is I have never owned one that made it past a 1000 hr, and lots of maintenance to keep them running, if your not mechanically inclined and send it to shop all the time, it will kill your bank acc a thousand at the time . funny thing is my 24 glasply had 6000 plus hours on the 350 chev, before the heads came off, it was just regular maintenance before thatIt’s a 350 gm block, adapted to marine use, good engine, problem with me is I have never owned one that made it past a 1000 hr, and lots of maintenance to keep them running, if your not mechanically inclined and send it to shop all the time, it will kill your bank acc a thousand at the time . One is an outboard and 2 years old.Interesting that the Jeanneau and Seasport are similarly priced.
Was it kept in the water?funny thing is my 24 glasply had 6000 plus hours on the 350 chev, before the heads came off, it was just regular maintenance before that
Maybe I am just unlucky I guess. You are a mechanic so it’s a bit different situation. But in your 6000 hrs how many manifold ??? How many risers, how many lower end gears ,how many times you rebuild the gimbal housing, bellows, reseal the shields and I can go on, that’s what I mean by a thousand $ at a timefunny thing is my 24 glasply had 6000 plus hours on the 350 chev, before the heads came off, it was just regular maintenance before that
