I really like the Seasport boats,but I would have lots of questions for the owner,why is the motor and drive out "For annual maintenance"?Did they find rot in the transom or stringers?Why is he selling now?

What better time or method to check for rot than now, as the engine and drive are completely out.

Yes i have heard the same... the 5.0MPI with Brovo3 (260HP) is what I will be aiming for or the 5.7MPI... it was a 5.0MPI with a bravo3

Buy a Seasport over a Bayliner any day (now all the Bayliner owners hate me,cringe) .Aquaholic is right about checking for rot and it's best to add a transom door while engine is out too.This could be the one.Act fast.You will never find a boat in your size range that already has a transom door,except an Osprey which is more a fishing boat than I think you want,big dance floor.

Depending what needs to be done and the extent of the work sometimes its easier and necessary to pull everything out clean replace and re seal the works. Much easier to work on a motor and drives on a bench than bent over in the boat. Would also allow you to access hull fittings etc that may have been a real pita before. I would say it’s actually a good sign he’s doing it right in my mind and not cutting corners. The rot is always a potential issue and easy enough for any surveyor to check especially now.

That 542 is $10-12k higher than pre covid pricing.
i would say the 2301 would’ve been around $40k pre covid so maybe 50 now

I would say that if you can get that for sub 50k in this market that would be just fine.
If all checks out, I’d say $53-55K in this market. Anything under $50k would be a great deal. Compare this to the one that was recently posted in Sunshine Coast and was asking $60K. I’ve been looking for a 23’ with outboards for the last few months and haven’t been able to find a clean one under $50k.

had this same boat in the 17 1/2 version.. best riding and safest small boat i ever owned. Gunnels are a bit low though.I always liked this hull design. Pretty boats.

The one in Gibsons was beat up and sun damaged. I was there yesterday for work and managed to take a look. As I said Jcon let me know where it’s at if you don’t get it. Anyone bring boats up from the US.? I’m working on one now on the east coast, just don’t really know the methods.

Find a shipping company that will ship from wherever the boat is to as close to you as you can get.
