Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

With everyone being real estate moguls these past few years, they were buyin and sellin and remortgaging. MIGHT AS WELL THROW A BOAT ON THERE! Yeeeeeeeeeehaw! Pew, Pew, Pew!
This all day. At one point I counted 200 ski boats over 200k on Castanet Kelowna. And assume all sold. To buy a 225k boat, IMO you should have 3-5mm net worth or make 500k+. Ideally both. Guys making 120k driving 100k f350’s towing 150k Hewescrafts is insanity. Cheap credit free money days are over and the boat sale this fall will be legendary. Called this a year ago fwiw. Don’t wish anyone to fail, but do look forward to buying their toys at 50 cents on the dollar.

If their rates were locked in and they still have a job not going to be a problem. If variable, than a good chance you might be right.

Until they renew at 5%. Something like 80% of mortgages are due for renewal in the next 2 years. Lots of pain to come.

Lot of people want 2008 all over again. Pretty good stock market reset, and locally real estate seems to have adjusted. 10% off the top and with boc signally one small move than holding steady we might be good.

Vehicle supply problems are fixed and some price drops but until people loose their jobs they likely won’t be returning them with the keys.

Some guys still want thousands for their $10 boat and some still want 100k for their 85k boat but I don’t see good deals sitting.

Beauty boat. Not a fan of that hard top over the cockpit though.

Inflation while softening is still 3x the target, possible rates will go up. The days if zirp are over IMO.
Canadas inflation rate. Supply chain issues seem to be lessening, it is reasonable to expect inflation to continue downward. (back to used boats)

Except inflation hasn’t softened

2022 7% on $100 is $107
2023 6.3% on $107 is $113.75

Our cheap supply of Chineese goods has dried up and we are too Green brain washed to produce our own goods, produce energy or extract natural resources or build industry/factories.

We are in for multiple years of pain.

Pretty nice. I wonder if he has an enclosure for it,

Something tells me you like Sea Rays as much as my good buddy! What do you think she's worth $10 or 5k? Hope it's not a members.
The laguna is a well liked hull as far as I’m concerned, I just think this might be an attempt at a cash grab of sorts.

That's a pretty decent riding boat I believe. It looks like it sunk or was stripped, then someone bought it and hung an old motor off the back. Sat around for years after they realized they had no idea what they had got themselves into.

I'd agree somewhere around 5k if the trailer actually rolls and the hull isn't rotten.

A beaten, rotten hull isn't worth much of anything. I love whalers, but an old waterlogged, rotten, trashed and stripped whaler ain't worth anything to me either. You get it for nothing to save it from the junk yard if you have a warped sense of fun. Pay yourself nothing for hundreds of yours of work to bring it back to life. If you get stuck and have to sell it, your lucky to get what you have into it if you don't factor in any value to your time. That's my take anyhow.
