Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

That 18 foot has been on sale for a while. The previous owner sold it for 18, I just missed getting it at the time. Not sure what the new owner did to it to pump the price up by 6k.....

If you're thinking of buying this boat message me for the 411
The price seems too good to be true so I inquired. It's a '96, merc is 2012 and trailer breaks not working. they sent me pics, outside looks ok but the cuddy is dirty and signs that the cabin leaks quite a bit.

A lot to be desired on the description though. Size and price with pictures of a bunch of motors. They should read the post of how not to advertise your boat.

nice boat whats the exchange on the dollar right now?
I looked long and hard at boats out of the states, simply because of the sheer volume. I found that after exchange and taxes and tariffs etc, that I was essentially multiplying the US price by 1.75 to get closer to a real value in Can dollars. It was interesting to watch a 40K boat quickly become 70K, without surveys and transport fees.

Plus, I found what I wanted just down the hwy for under 40K!:) so patience paid off for sure.

You’re paying the 12% tax either way up here. Pay it at the border or get that CRA letter in the mail after you register it. On currency exchange, you can save thousands by using a company like Knightsbridge Foreign Exchange and get half a point of the live market rate. In addition to that they can allocate your funds back to you or wire the money to the destination of your choice at no charge. Trailers down there custom built with elec/hydraulic brakes come at a fraction of the price compared to up here and are all I-beam. Find a fair shipper that has good referrals and you can have it towed for a dollar a mile, even on their trailer if you’ve already got one up here. Once the tariff drops off again there are lucrative deals to be had down south. Something to keep in mind for members on here.
