Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

Would you prefer the outboard version or the inboard?
They both have pros and cons. My only experience with Yanmar was my teenage years on my dads boat which was a custom built 24' semi-displacement pocket cruiser based on a east coast lobster hull design. It was a great boat and would cruise at about 14 knots and only sipped 2 gph. That Yanmar turbo-diesel was gold! The Yanmars require regular maintenance of a diesel, but not really different from outboards in that regard. My twin 150 Mercs cost me $220 a side in materials to do a 100hr oil change with me doing the labour. I am not sure how that would compare to a Yanmar. If I was in the market for a boat and it had a good condition Yanmar with fresh water cooling I would probably jump on it. No I/O to worry about and heat exchanger problems are less of an issue. And I bet the new cost of a Yanmar wouldn't be an issue based on how much the costs of outboards have skyrocketed over the last few years.
