Boats on Used Victoria and Other Areas

very underpowered for west coast. anyone know the fuel capacity on these?
I wonder what the specs are compared to mine. I have twin 150s and don't find it underpowered at all. I think mine is something like 27-28 LOA? Has to be similar in weight though.

Does the 24 have a stand up head? Or is that extended cab version vs standard?
Both. 2400 Explorer has stand up head. Popular with the ladies. It has an extended cabin with the same dance floor as the 2200. The 2400 xl (shorter cab) has a head under the v-birth, much like the 2200. The 2400 xl has the same cabin as the 2200, with a bigger dance floor.

i also compare my old kingfisher. 2625, 9'6" beam.. 300 was just enough and it was a lighter boat.

You're right though about the big swell offshore needing more juice. I could see me having push the rpms a little more than I'd like to for long periods of time. I'm doing 30 knots at 5200 rpm. My easy cruise is 24 knots at 4200-4400. There's no hill climbing on the inside whatsoever though, so who knows how much more I'd be pushing it. Either way I'm going 200s when the time comes, because why not?

I asked the owner if they had played with props happy with performance etc. They said "5k rpm 30kn, dirty hull and still trying to figure out trim tabs." That crane, pot puller, tender, second steering station, 100 gallon gas, 20 water 6 hot water, she all adds up. I wouldn't be surprised if it had 1000lbs on your ride maybe 500 when you have the fried chicken setup on board. I think it is usable with the 150hp, but they have good resale right now.

100 gallons

Way too small fuel tank for that size of boat IMHO. Severely limits your cruising potential without significant planning which is unfortunate as this is what the boat is set up to do. This model was probably originally designed as a west coast guide boat in which case the power and fuel tank is fine.

My 24'7" with twin 150's would be in a similar weight ballpark (6000 lbs-ish) and it runs fine with the twins, especially after I put the Permatrims on. Fully loaded with 60% fuel I burn about an extra 1.3 gallons an hour at cruise which is 23 mph. But it also has a 140 gallon tank. Not sure I would ever attempt a tuna trip on a 100 gallon tank and it does mean you have to plan longer trips more closely for refuels. Seems a bit small for that size boat.

I had a 2400 long cabin with twin 140 Suzuki's and it topped out at 40mph. Cruised at 25 or so @5-7gph. It was just enough power for the boat. Two fifty gallon fuel tanks.

5-7gph an hour is crazy good! I average 10.5 loaded at cruise, 8.8-10 when I am on regular day trips.

This looks really good. Trailer looks like it is too small and needs EOH

I'm really starting to be concerned that this hasn't been posted yet. ;)
