Late one afternoon while staying at an undisclosed fishing camp, we decided my boat needed a new bow line. We set about removing the old one after unhooking the winch and back straps and before too long had a nice new one in place.
A few beers later, the BBQ was ready and steaks went on.
Woke up in the morning eager to get out and catch fish , jumped in the truck and a minute later i'm poised to back down & launch at a 45 degree ramp at low tide.
One of the worst things i can remember was the sound of rollers spinning wildly just before my boat hit the concrete ramp. [:0]
Turns out in my preoccupation with beers and dinner, i hadn't reattached my winch line or my tiedowns.
Feeling like an idiot, i was able to recruit a few kind souls who helped me
winch the trailer back under the boat grinding her poor bottom across the ramp.
