Best west coast fishing boat under 80k

I did say they are often entertaining, but I noted there’s a common theme. Again, look at the example boats he has given. Makes me wonder why people jump to a Grady 232. I hope I didn’t hurt the feelings of your personal boat. I am moderating this as much as you are.
Its all good......I'm boatless right now. I can't be offended. Lets just enjoy this guys path to happiness.... whatever route it takes.

Bubba: Not sure where you are, but looks like Sherwood Marine on the island has a 206 for $94k sticker price. But...its only got a 150 on it.

Maybe I'm a crappy captain, but I've hit an unseen log hard with my boat and I was happy to have plate aluminum...

Thanks, I'm up in the Comox valley.

The 206 would be pretty underpowered with a 150, no? Def not Stizz approved.

Seems like there are several others down south like you said earlier kaelc
I’d want a wider pod for twins anyway
Just thought I’d get my .2 cents in lol

Monaros are way too narrow, no room on the deck.
My 20’2” podded Hourston will be for sale in the spring because of its short beam and tiny chines, super unstable at rest. Best riding 20’ I know of, and a super fun boat though. If it was a Monaro it wouldn’t be going up for sale. I’m not sure where manufacturers generally take their beam’s measurements, but I know the 21’ Monaro is wider and has beefier chines. Same deadrise, but much more stable. I’ve seen 8’6” boats that seem skinny on deck, has a lot to do with how the gunwales are laid out. The newer 23 Monaro has a nice deck layout maximizing deck space. There’s a lot more to width than outside measurement mid ship, insert joke here…

What'cha getting instead?

Guess I should give a little more specifics on what I am looking for and I know there is such a wide range of boat and opinions. 80k is the ball park, ideally looking for something no more than 5 years old, outboard, will look at fiberglass or aluminum. Something that can be easily trailered, as for weather protection pilot house would be nice but not a deal breaker. Can fish with 3 or 4 people comfortably., stable platform. Mostly used for inshore day trips.
If your looking to have a 2020 or newer boat you can eliminate the top builders like Pursuit, Grady White, Whaler's etc right away as those would be 200 plus thousand easy. You would be looking more in the sub 20' Double eagle and Campion. I think even a 18' Campion that's around 5 years old would be around 70-80k.

I'm realistic about the boats I'll be looking at. It really depends on the boat I may stretch the budget a bit more. I almost bought a new Osprey last year but with no real interest in going offshore and fishing solo for the most part on day trips I couldn't justify dropping the 250k on it.

If you are inshore and solo alot, a Campion 542 is a great boat for that. Easy to manage with one person, well thought out design, great fishable space for its size (18'). Highly recommend.
