Hey guys, Just looking for a favour and to see if there is any members on here on the mainland with a Poded 185 Double Eagle? Im going to build a pod for my boat and it would be a big help if I could take some measurements and get some pictures to copy when I start fabbing. This will be my first pod build so Id like to get it right the first time! LOL

I saw one done at Goldstream Marina and the MD who purchased my 18.5 DE in Port Alberni intended to do it. There was someone who did them there quite reasonably.

My neighbor in Nanaimo had there's POD'd last year and it is a simple design; they had there's done in Whiskey Creek for quite cheap; I built one for my Wellcraft 2 years ago and it cost me the same to do it myself as it did for my neighbor to have his done, no headaches; no swearing; no BS. You may want to call around and get pricing as you may find it easier on yourself and less time consuming to have someone with a design already done and layed out to do it. My neighbor's DE had a rounded transom on it; early 90's hull; full flotation POD; built and installed in 6 days; engine installed on the 7th day; fishing on the 8th. Good Luck; if you want pics of the POD I can see if I can get you some?

No wories man, I like building stuff for the boat. :p Its always easiest to copy a design rather than custom build although I do have an idea of what I'm going to do with this. I figure $300 for aluminium and my time is free so Cheep cheep is better lol

Is your boat I/B or O/B? I have an 18.6 DE with 140 O/B, with a pod and the dance extra space it would be even better than now. I saw one at A & E a few weeks ago. Someone had filled the back with an aluminum stern, cut out the rear fiberglass seats and well then made an aluminum pod. Looked awesome, not something I would attempt. When you start could you make it a post with as you proceed pics so we can learn. Thanks
