2025 Tuna Adventures

I know the blue is best due to more temp contrast but we've got lots of tuna in not that difference in temps from the blue water. Even 4 to 5 degrees dif We've got loads of tuna in..

Does the blue have to do with the chlorophyll too though?

Does SatFish show that? Just down loaded it. Used to use Terrafin. I've always just gone by the temp contrast with Terrafin and done very well. But the more tools and info the better.
Yes I am referring to blue water in terms to colour, not temperature. What you’re looking for is breaks in water chlorophyll where the green inshore water meets the clear blue offshore water. I don’t know about Terrafin but Satfish has both images updated frequently. Just fishing based on temp will not necessarily find you any fish.

Gotchya thank you.
Ok so comparing the chlorophyll layer with the temp layer, do you think these two shot locations are decent for a prospecting trip?
One from Esperanza and the other is WH.. not a huge difference in distance out but I'm closer to Esperanza so for now I'd go out there first to poke around.

Esperanza shots look far better from what you’ve posted and marked (assuming the water further west is consistently warm and blue). The spot off Winter Harbour you've highlighted is a soft break and just a little finger of blue-ish water and warm water - those don't typically hold albacore.

If you are running from WH, better to run further to the south where the hard break in both water temp and chlorophyll is located.

I’d be aiming for further south to where the warm and blue water is more open to the south and west. Along the red line.

Exactly!!! Hard to find any albacore anywhere off BC coast right now....absolutely wild. Know in past mid Aug on was prime time and last few seasons it has been early but should be around now....maybe super duper late this year (one can pray) or just an absolute desert all year this year....which would make me sad
