Spoons working for pinks right now? Want to run dummy flashers to give an old school buddy and his son from Kamloops a thrill. Thursday from pedder, hopefullly the winds aren’t too bad.
If they're as thick as it seems, jig for 'em! A buddy and I just got back from up island and jigged up a ton from our kayaks using typical chinook gear (mac deeps and the like). They were streaming down the strait, 50' below the surface.

Raging gales and family commitments kept us off the water for 2 weeks. Missed out yesterday but BWD implied wind would be “OKish” this morning so tsunami warning notwithstanding we tried to give it a go. Lines in round 7:15 am and had a 5lb clipped coho off the bat. Released another smaller unclipped coho 10 minutes later. However, waves were already building, wind was cold and swirled the fog and so after 30 minutes we called it. We were disappointed but don’t need to endure discomfort at our advanced age!! BWD is not optimistic about wind for next two days either, so will bide our time…..
