Has anyone hit up south end of Thormanby / Pirate recently for coho?

Glad to hear the hatcheries are out there and starting to move in!

Yup we caught some more yesterday but let them go as even at 20"or so they are still pretty skinny.

Question for the group - we had a bit of a debate on the boat. Would you call this a clipped adipose fin? The healed-over 90 degree notch led us to believe it was indeed a legal fish, but debated whether keeping it was risky or not. Curious what others think. Also attaching the pic of what swayed us to keep it.

Fishing report: Went out this weekend and fished a little all over. Epsom had quite a few fish Friday night, but no keepers. Some wild Coho and quite a few nice spring. East/South East Sangster fished well on Saturday with lots of action, but only one keeper... managed to bounce around a little and find some hatchery coho elsewhere. Didn't make it down to Pirate, but also curious of some of the hatchery hoes have moved that far south.

I believe the language is "healed scar" for the clipped adipose fin. Looks like your fish meets that criteria.

I had some lines in the water on Sunday at Epsom, and had 3 coho to the boat, including one hatchery. Hoping it's another great year!

Solid morning out at epsom,no action for the first hour then it was on. 5 wild and 2 hatch ho’s, all on spoons. Tons of bait out there.

Yes I was fishing the ebb , stayed for the low slack that’s when I got both my hatcheries

As we were heading over to Sangster yesterday morning, we saw some bait jumping off the south end of Lasqueti. Decided to drop the lines in a new (to us) spot. We found a nice school of hatchery ho's, and for the first time this year we avoided the springs. It was also nice to see a higher ratio of hatchery to wild. Got our limit in about an hour on spoons from 40-70 ft. deep.

Fished Sangster 7:30 - 9:00 AM today. Lots of coho. 40’ - 70’ on DR. Hoochies. Then Epsom. No coho there. A bit more SE breeze than forecast.

Fished Epsom Thursday afternoon. Got 2 hatch coho and gaff released a nice 10 pound Chinook.
Steady action on AP spoon and white hootchie. 60 to 80 feet.

we were out yesterday at Epsom.. pretty rough. Released a wild coho and good-size spring. Fast troll, 40-50’on DRs.
